More About Us The Ridge is located about 30 minutes north east of Birmingham Alabama in a small town called Springville. Not too far from Huntsville, Gadsden, and Atlanta Georgia. We also get people driving over from Mississippi, Florida, Tennessee, Louisiana, Arkansas, and more. Pretty much all over the southeast.
History: It all started back in 2004. We (my brother and I) have always been involved in motor sports in some way or another. I was about five when I got my first JR50. Around the 04 time frame we found it increasingly difficult to find good dirt bike/ATV/side by side riding areas (ohv trails). It seemed like no trespassing signs were going up everywhere. Even the 2,000 plus acres right behind the house was now pretty much off limits. One day my brother Jason got the idea to improve the old track we've always had on the 100 acres we grew up on. That led to the idea that maybe other people need a place to go as well. Shortly after that some of the 2,000 acres behind us came up for sale. We decided to buy about 400 of it and start cutting OHV trails for a new riding area called "The Ridge - Off-Road Riding Park".
Currently: Things have moved slower than we thought over the past 5 years, but at the same time we've come a long way. The Ridge now has over 30 miles of one-way OHV trails all marked by difficulty. The trails are available to motorcycles, four wheelers, and side by sides. (Sorry not enough room for off-road trucks.) On top of that we've got over 10 miles of motorcycle only single track. All the single track is marked difficult, and has turned out to be some of the most technically challenging around. We get riders from all over the southeast looking for a challenge. The old motocross track has turned into a one mile plus motocross track with lots of elevation changes, natural terrain, and plenty of jumps. We've also added a kids only motocross track, a pee-wee track just for beginners, and another supercross/motocross track called Area 51. Along with the pee-wee track, beginners also have access to a beginner only riding field. In 2010 we've had some help from some local trials riders, and created a total of 8 trials sections located throughout the park. There's also two cabins and plenty of primitive camping sites with fire pits (we even provide the wood). The campground has two stocked fishing ponds that your welcome to fish, and a bathhouse with hot showers. Just recently we've even put in a disc golf course. We also hold events like Hare Scramble Races, Kids Motocross, and concerts. We've also just added ATV and Side by Side rentals!
Future Plans: Right now all of our resources are going into finishing the Club House. It's a 12,000 square foot building that will contain a Pro Shop with bikes and gear for sale, five hotel rooms, a grill/restaurant, and a motorcycle/ATV repair shop. After we get the club house done then there's no telling what will get into. We've had suggestions for everything including a sanctioned motocross track, an endurocross track, more trails, more land, and bigger cabins. We'll just have to see what happens.
